Zoketsu Norman  Fischer Zoketsu Norman Fischer, Zen Priest, Founder of Everyday Zen Foundation, former Abbot of San Francisco Zen Center. Author of nine volumes of poetry and several books including: Sailing Home: Using Homer's Odyssey to Navigate Life's Perils and Pitfalls, Taking Our Places: The Buddhist Path to Truly Growing Up, and Opening to You: Zen-Inspired Translations of the Psalms.
Charles Garfield, PhD, Founder of Shanti Project, Clinical Professor, UCSF Medical School, Board Member C.G. Jung Institute of San Francisco, Visiting Scholar, Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley. Author of several books including Sometimes My Heart Goes Numb: Love and Caregiving in a Time of AIDS, Peak Performers, and Training Volunteers for Community Service.

Rachel Naomi Remen Rachel Naomi Remen, MD, Co-Founder of Commonweal Center, Clinical Professor, Family and Community Medicine, UCSF School of Medicine and Founder and Director of the Institute for the Study of Health and Illness. Author of several books including: My Grandfather's Blessings: Stories of Strength, Refuge, and Belonging and Kitchen Table Wisdom: Stories That Heal.
Ange Stephens Ange Stephens, MA, MFT, Co-Director End-of-Life Practitioner Program. Integral Psychotherapist and coach specializing in working with issues of life-threatening illness, death and dying, grief and loss, and caregiving. Former Clinical Director Cancer Support Community.
Frances Vaughan Frances Vaughan, PhD, Psychologist, Educator. Author of several books integrating psychology and spirituality, including: Awakening Intuition, The Inward Arc: Healing in psychotherapy and spirituality, and Shadows of the Sacred. Co-editor of Gifts from A Course in Miracles. Retired clinical faculty of the University of California at Irvine, international lecturer on transpersonal psychology.

We remember with gratitude our founding faculty member Rabbi Alan Lew (deceased January 2009) and Angeles Arrien (deceased April 2014).
